Past plastics

I've always wanted a list of plastics used in Victorian times and here it is. Thank you, internet. I knew about shellac and gutta percha but not the other seven. Following the root of the link yields other useful stuff such as the Shadwell forgers and info about Jettons.

Where would we be without the internet? Inconceivable - which is nonsense since we all grew up without it : )

I'm not sure what it is about that list that I find so appealing. Maybe because it does encapsulate everything I like about the net, particularly that it was a serendipitous find. Also, I guess, it makes me realise that Victorian times were more complicated than I thought.
